Enjoys romance, fermentation, and long walks on the peach
So here goes - "The Office Dummies Guide to Fruit Flies", also know as "People shouldn't have to be told this stuff". After all, there might be a fly epidemic coming soon. (and if there is, you first heard it here folks):
"Lately, fruit flies are found in our office. They have made their way to the meeting rooms. It has been annoying with them flying around while the meetings are in progress. Fruit flies are also found at your desk when you left your fruits uneaten over a few days.
Fruit flies are found on leftover local bananas and grapes. These fruit flies feed and breed on overripe and fermenting fruits. Fruit flies can reproduce anywhere there is fermenting organic matter that stays consistently wet or moist. These flies develop from larvae, and fruit flies larva must have moist, fermenting matter in order to survive.
To eliminate the flies, local bananas will not be ordered and left over grapes will be cleared from fruit basket after 2 days. Staff are encouraged not to leave fruits on their desks over 2 days. Staff are responsible to clear away the fruits from their desks before going on leave or dispose overripe fruits from their desks.
Each of us has a duty for keep away flies from breeding in our office, including cockroaches. Keep food in containers with tight-fitting lids. Please do not allow food to be remained on the desks overnight, you are inviting insects to feed on them. Store and keep food away before you leave the office...but you need to cultivate good habit to keep the insects away."
Really. People shouldn't have to be told this.

The philosophy of food..and smell
Ms. Clean: how can you smell ?
Mom: What?
Ms. Clean: You're so far away..how can you smell?
Mom: it*. I meant It wasnt smelling?
Ms. Clean: Oh. Oh well, I dunno. I had not washed the dishes also, so there were a lot of smells and it was hard to distinguish which smell was which
Mom: sheeeeeeeeeeeee (which for the uneducated, is a milder version of YUCK)
I hope u opened that new air freshner thing.
Ms. Clean: Why? Smell is good for the soul. It reminds you that your nose is still working
Mom: Nevermind
I think she's given up on me. I don't understand why

More proof about the Quickly-Dying-Unused-Brain cells
So last night I had a shower, put my glasses back on and went downstairs to watch the rest of the Heroes Season 2 Marathon
Only I couldn’t see as clearly as before.
I kept closing one eye at a time and trying to see if I could read the Star World logo on the TV and it was blurry.
I tried wiping the lens hoping that would solve it but it still wasn’t any better
I kept wondering what on earth could have happened after I had that shower that would made my new spectacles weaker in power. I mean, my number couldn’t have just increased just like that.
Me (to mom and Lil Sis) : You know its funny, suddenly I can't see clearly with these glasses. I could see properly before I had a shower
Lil Sis: Maybe that’s because you're wearing MY glasses

Rain Rain go away
It has been almost 5 months I've been in Singapore now, and the rain just hasn't stopped... I love the rain - when I'm nicely tucked in at home with a book at some bhajjiyas, but since they don't sell bhajjiyas here (and I can't cook) and it rains only when I'm out, the rain and me aren't best friends anymore.. sigh...
Oh and another thing. If you ever wanna make pudding with ripening pears, grapes, berries, peaches, milk, honey, and spare bread... and you wanna make lots of it... and you don't have an oven or a pressure cooker, or anything air-tight to cook it in - then don't think of making it.. I learnt that yesterday.

Frozen Eggs
Yes, have you ever heard of frozen eggs? The eggs in my refrigerator froze!! Really!!! I never knew that could happen. That they would freeze if the temperature was low. So I threw all the disgusting looking frozen eggs out (they look the same as normal eggs from the outside, but try cracking one and the lil disgusting sight that awaits you is, well, just plain ole disgusting
So I bought a dozen eggs again yesterday, and lo and behold… they bloody froze again..
See these are the things that mothers need to tell their children when they're gonna be living along.. mine didn't even know about frozen eggs until i told her
